BL’s annual Junior/Senior Tea has been a tradition for more than 50 years in honor of the graduating senior girls. On Wednesday, May 4, the junior class once again hosted the annual Tea for the Class of 2016. In years past, the junior girls cooked for the seniors, but now that BL has grown, the Tea is catered by Sage Dining. This year, about 250 ladies participated and were allowed to dress up for school on the day of the Tea.
“The Tea is a celebration of the graduating senior ladies,” explained the Junior Class Sponsor Mrs. Pam Price. “The junior ladies host this event as a way of honoring the seniors and thanking them for being role models and friends to them for the last three years.”
The junior and senior girls used this event as a last chance to bond with each other and share memories.
“My favorite part was being able to bond with the juniors,” said senior Kate Lacina. “I enjoyed filling them in on the fun of senior year and what they can look forward to next year.”
“My favorite part was the food,” said junior Annie Jacques. “Next year I am definitely looking forward to eating more fried macaroni!”
“This is a very important event because it is the culmination of three years of friendship and mentoring by the senior ladies with the class below them,” said Mrs. Price. “It is a way of wishing the graduating class of ladies good luck as they move into the next phase of their lives and is a proud BL tradition.”
